CLINK! CLINK! CLINK! “ANNNDD our first fabulous prize is going to paddle number 243!” CMU football announcer Don Chiodo kept the bidding action moving along at the second annual ICRH Party for a Purpose event.
Excited bidders threw in their quarters to bid on the many prize baskets donated from the Mount Pleasant community and beyond! Items included themed baskets, gift certificates, photo shoots, massages, unique experiences, home goods, wine tasting, sports memorabilia, etc. Everyone was a winner when the auction proceeds benefitted Isabella County Restoration House (ICRH)!
Now in its second year, the ICRH Party for a Purpose event was once again sold out! Over 300 people attended the event and helped raise over $37,000 for ICRH - almost double the proceeds from last year!
Food was donated by local restaurants and the menu included a variety of delicious soups, salads, and bread. The simple menu reminds us how impactful a bowl of soup can be to someone trying to keep warm in the cold winters in Michigan.
Finally, everyone in attendance walked away with a unique handmade ceramic bowl made by the CMU Ceramics Club. Faculty judged the bowls, and the top 3 gorgeous handcrafted bowls were displayed and enjoyed by all at the event.
Thank you to all who made this exciting event happen. Homelessness is a community issue, and this community is stepping up! Want to get involved? Visit www.icrhouse.org and click on “Your Help”.
The committee plans to continue the event next year. If interested in making a donation to or providing goods for ICRH Party for a Purpose 2020, please contact us at email@example.com.
