We are all aware of how impactful the extreme weather has been over the past week. From mild cabin fever, to struggling to survive, no one in our community has been untouched.
At some point you probably thought along the lines of, “What if my family didn’t have a warm place to stay?” The honest answer is that Isabella County Restoration House (ICRH) would have most likely been your final safety net from sleeping outside.
This week we have seen record-breaking guest numbers at ICRH as those who are experiencing homelessness have sought the emergency shelter needed.
We were able to temporarily make accommodations beyond our normal capacities thanks to the help of the week’s host organization and liberal use of emergency hotel funds.
Our thought has been, “What if ICRH and these extra resources had not been available?”
Frankly, that is up to you and me. While the polar vortex is fresh on all of our minds, would you consider a donation of your time or funds in our efforts to serve those in our community?
